Soksa bay in Cambodian not only means „How are you“ and „I am well“ but also stands for an award winning sustainable tourism company, running unique bike tours in Battambang. Flawlessly running mountain bikes will take you to local families producing rice paper, sticky rice n’ beans, or rice wine, to a fish whole sale market and take you through of course, you guessed it, rice fields. The knowledgable guides allow for an insight into Khmer lives before, during and after the wars that is hard to find elsewhere. To make such an experience positive for all sides the bikers receive a crash course in Khmer language and customs. Built as its own version of a tourism school, guides stay and train here for 2 years before moving on to father organizations or their own projects. A day well spent with many culinary treats to try and a positive impact all around for visitors, tour guides and local Khmer families.
